Sitges is already preparing and getting ready to put on its most colorful clothes for the best party of the year! Carnival in Sitges is the most famous one in Catalonia. This year carnival will be celebrated in the beginning of March from 3th till the 9th with parades and a lot of parties throughout town. Every year Carnival in Sitges attracts many visitors from all over the world, this year it is expected that more than a quarter million visitors will be joining the party. Sitges will entertain all of them because the week will be packed with events. The festivities will set of with the arrival of the King of Carnival on the first day.
On Sunday the 6th and Tuesday the 8th of March parades will pass through town. The Sunday Parade is known as “Rua de la Disbauxa” (Rampage Rua) and the Tuesday Parade, called “Rua de l’extermination” (Rua of Extermination). The parades will go through the center where thousands of people will be dressed up dancing to the music. These parades will depart only a few streets from Hotel San Sebastian playa so you don’t have to miss a thing!
It is an amazing experience which you should not miss out on. Once you have seen Carnival in Sitges you don’t want to go anywhere else for this festival. You will just have to come to Sitges and experience for yourself what you have missed the years before.
